Telugu Actress Rekha Boj's Vow To Strip If Team India Wins World Cup Final Against Australia

It's not uncommon for rising stars to make bold declarations, particularly during pivotal moments in Indian cricket history. In 2011, as Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Team India squared off against Kumar Sangakkara's Sri Lankan XI in the World Cup final, Poonam Pandey made headlines by vowing to shed layers if India triumphed.

Despite India's unexpected victory, Pandey reneged on her promise, causing a stir.

In a bid to attract attention or perhaps for other reasons, Telugu actress Sri Sushma, known as Rekha Boj, with a substantial Instagram following of 370K, pledged to disrobe at Vizag beach if India clinched a win against Australia in the ongoing World Cup final on Sunday.

Taking to her account on X (previously Twitter), Rekha announced, "If India wins the World Cup, I will streak on Visakhapatnam beach. India World Cup కొడితే, వైజాగ్ బీచ్ లో streaking చేస్తా..."

However, her announcement drew backlash from fans who criticised her attempt at what they termed 'cheap stunts' for attention.

One user in Kannada remarked, "If you display on the beach, someone might throw a stone at you, another might film it for likes and comments. What's new in this?"

Another commented, "If you streak on the beach, I will kidnap you..."

Following the wave of distasteful comments, Rekha vehemently retracted her statement, seemingly clarifying that she had no intention of carrying out such actions.

The final match is set for November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and is anticipated to attract numerous prominent personalities from Indian politics, entertainment, and sports.
