Taylor Swift Deepfake Porn Images Goes Viral, Singer Exploring Legal Options
Fake, sexually explicit images featuring American megastar Taylor Swift, likely generated by artificial intelligence, causing distress among her fans across various social media platforms. These deepfakes have rekindled the urgency among lawmakers to safeguard women and enforce stricter measures on platforms and technologies propagating such content.
One particular image of the singer garnered 47 million views on X, formerly known as Twitter, before it was eventually removed on Thursday. According to US media reports, the post remained live on the platform for approximately 17 hours.

In response to the incident, Taylor Swift is reportedly "furious" about the circulation of AI-generated nude images and is contemplating potential legal action against the responsible site, as reported by The New York Post.
While the decision on legal action is pending, it is unequivocally stated that these AI-generated images are deemed abusive, offensive, exploitative, and have been disseminated without Taylor's consent or knowledge, according to a source close to the 34-year-old pop star.
In an official statement, X asserted that "posting Non-Consensual Nudity (NCN) images is strictly prohibited on X, and we have a zero-tolerance policy towards such content."
The platform, owned by Elon Musk, assured that it was actively removing all identified images and taking appropriate actions against the accounts responsible for their posting. X also stated that it is closely monitoring the situation to ensure immediate action against any further violations and prompt removal of the content.
Despite these efforts, the images persisted and were shared on Telegram.
Following the unsettling and distasteful incident, Swifties, the devoted and enthusiastic fan base of Taylor Swift, rallied to support the singer. Although little could be done after the images spread rapidly across various social media platforms, Swifties demonstrated their solidarity with Taylor during this challenging period. The hashtag 'Protect Taylor Swift' gained traction on X, with people calling for stringent laws to deter such offensive occurrences.
