Tamil Actor Vijay Trolled After Fans Serve Food To Chennai Flood-Affected People Holding His Pic

A section of netizens have trolled Tamil actor Vijay after a video went viral where his fans are seen distributing food to people affected by the recent flood victims holding his photo.

In the viral video, his fans are seen serving food. While this gesture has been appreciated by many, some people have pointed out how another man is holding Vijay's photo.

"One of the funniest thing i have seen this year," one fan wrote on X. Another one said, "Looks like someone's shrad, who Carries photos of living like this."

The third user commented: "And the MP from our state calls the north as 'gaumutra' states. See the situation here, shameless PR in the name of social service. Yuck."

The fourth netizen claimed, "shame on joseph vijay @actorvijay at least spare old mothers ...dont stoop to this low..u are already famous..this is the cheapest way of publicity... @GemsOfBollywood."

Taking a potshot at Vijay's political ambition, another user stated, "All this for his much anticipated entry into politics. He ain't winning 10 seats."

Nonetheless, what many fail to understand is the cause and it is feeding the flood-affected people.

"The style maybe somewhat cringe, but they are serving good food in a super clean environment. That what really counts," another user defended the gesture.

Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpet bore the brunt of cyclone Michuang, which crossed the coast in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, before it brought heavy rains to the said four districts.

Manali in north Chennai was among the severely affected areas. Officials said drinking water, 12,000 litres of milk, milk powder, bedsheets and food for about 15,000 people in Manali have been dispatched.

Residents complained of inflated milk prices in many localities.

Many NGOs and volunteers chipped in to help the people in need.

Parts of the city and its suburbs in adjoining districts remained water-logged on Thursday, days after Cyclone Michuang brought torrential downpour, paralysing life in the metropolis and its surrounding areas.
