Tamil Actor Mansoor Ali Khan Hospitalised

Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan, who was recently in the news for making derogatory comments against actress Trisha Krishnan, has been hospitalised on Thursday after he complained of chest discomfort.

The actor, founder of India Jananayaga Puligal party, was campaigning in Vellore when he experienced chest discomfort, according to a report in the Tamil media.

Currently, he is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai and is kept in the Intensive Care Unit.

His publicist has told a website: "His erratic schedule took a toll on his health. He is in the ICU currently. He has been diagnosed with fluid accumulation in the lungs and is expected to be back to normal soon."

Mansoor Ali Khan is a popular supporting role artiste who has often played the roles of antagonist in Tamil movies.

In November 2023, he triggered a controversy after claiming that he signed Vijay's 'Leo' hoping that he would get a chance to rape Trisha in the movie, but there was not a single scene with her. He said, "I was very eager when I heard I'd be acting with Trisha. I thought, 'There will definitely be a bedroom scene. Just like how I threw Kushboo and Roja on the bed, I can do it with her as well. In my 150 films, haven't I committed so many rapes and atrocities! They are not casting me as a villain. Just like how Hanuman took Chiranjeevi mountain in his hand, they took Trisha to Kashmir and brought her back. They didn't even show her to me!"

As his comments garnered severe criticism, Khan apologised to the actress before filing a lawsuit against her along with Chiranjeevi and Khushbu Sundar who had extended support to Trisha.

However, the Madras High Court on Friday slapped Rs 1 lakh fine after he filed a defamation case against actress Trisha Krishnan, BJP leader Khushbu and Telugu actor Chiranjeevi over their comments criticising him on his sexist comments.
