Tamil Actor Karthi Injured On Sardar 2 Sets In Mysuru; Shooting Halted

Tamil actor Karthi has been injured on the sets of his upcoming movie Sardar 2 after suffering an incident in Mysuru.

The actor got injured while performing an action sequence. However, he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was treated. Doctors have advised the actor to take at least a week's rest to ensure full recovery.

Following the incident, the producers decided to temporarily pause the shooting and return to Chennai. Filming will resume once Karthi's condition improves.

However, the Siruthai actor has not yet shared any updates about his health, and further details of his hospitalisation remain unclear.

It may be recalled that stuntman Ezhumalai lost his life following a fatal fall during an action sequence in July 2024. The 47-year-old had reportedly suffered an internal hemorrhage and succumbed to his injuries.

Earlier, the team had wrapped up filming the movie's climax on an elaborate set in Chennai. The current schedule involved an intense action scene featuring Karthi and SJ Suryah, choreographed by Chethan Ramshi D'Souza.

Karthi will be seen in dual roles in Sardar 2, directed by PS Mithran. The story of the Tamil movie is set in two different periods. Filming began in mid-2024 and was progressing steadily, with approximately 80% of the movie completed. The sequel stars Rajisha Vijayan, SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, and Ashika Ranganath.
