Swara Bhaskar Takes To X To Bash Hindi News Account For Body-Shaming Her After Childbirth

Earlier this morning, at around 3:00 AM, actress Swara Bhaskar took to her X account to call out the Hindi newspaper 'Amar Ujala News' for body-shaming her.

In her tweet, she wrote, "For those who cannot read the Devnaagri script.. this is a leading Hindi newspaper handle that thinks it's news-worthy that a recent mom, who birthed a child a few months ago put on weight! Can someone please explain the physiology of childbirth to the geniuses at." Alongside the tweet she also tagged the newspaper's X account, used the hashtag 'bodyshamer' and attached an image of the post by Amar Ujala with the relevant article.

The title of Amar Ujala's photo-article read 'Due To Her Heavy Weight, Swara Bhaskar Is Not Finding Any Work'. The article commented on Swara Bhaskar's recent posts on Instagram, and her comments regarding self-care and self-acceptance. The article also used many of her photos she posted on her Instagram post-childbirth.

On 23 September 2023, Swara Bhaskar gave birth to her first child. Two days later, she made a post on her Instagram, celebrating the birth of that child, a baby girl named Raabiyaa.

She also took to her story on Instagram to call out Amar Ujala, further calling them out on their need to report on her weight when other important events in the country are going on right now, like the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Swara Bhaskar gained popularity as an actress after playing roles in movies like 'Tanu Weds Manu' and 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' in early 2010s.
