Superstar Rajinikanth Jets Off To Abu Dhabi For Post-'Vettaiyan' Vacation

After wrapping up the shooting of his upcoming movie 'Vettaiyan', Tamil superstar on Wednesday left to Abu Dhabi where he plans to spend unwinding for a week.

His scenes in the movie, directed by Jaybeam filmmaker Gnanavel, have been wrapped up.Excited fans cheered as they caught a glimpse of Rajini at the Chennai airport, according to reports in the Tamil media.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth expressed his heartfelt wishes for the late Captain Vijayakanth in an emotional note shared on social media.

In a video, Rajinikanth remarked, "The central government has posthumously honoured the late actor and my dear friend, Vijayakanth, with the Padma Bhushan. The upcoming Padma 2024 books will document his legacy, marking a celebratory occasion and a high tribute to him. It's incomprehensible that Vijayakanth is no longer with us. He came, accomplished much, and departed. There will never be another like him. I deeply miss him. Our Captain was a warrior from Madurai. Thank you."

The film also includes Amitabh Bachchan, who completed shooting his part earlier this month. Rajini, aged 73, and Bachchan, aged 81, last worked together on the 1991 Hindi film 'Hum', directed by Mukul S Anand.

Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan play pivotal roles in Vettaiyan. Rajinikanth's previous appearance was in the sports action film Lal Salaam.

The Lyca Productions-funded movie is scheduled to release in October.

The Tamil flick has Rajini's nephew Anirudh Ravichander scoring the music. While SR Kathir handles the cinematography, Philomin Raj is the editor.
