Superman Costume Revealed; Date Announced; Audience Expectations

The DC 'X' account, on May 6 2024, revealed a teaser image of the upcoming 'Superman' film coming in 2025.

The teaser showcased Superman, played by David Corenswet, wearing his Superman suit, complete with his iconic logo in the centre of his chest and a cape. He's seen looking down, fitting his boots nonchalantly, as a giant purple laser fires out of the sky outside his window.

The tweet also tells the viewer to 'Get Ready' alongside the date 11 July, 2025. Supposedly, it's the date for either the movie or its first trailer to release.

While the teaser has got most fans excited, many are also taking this opportunity to express concern over the quality of the film based on the teaser image.

The suit seems to have odd folds around the armpits and chest, seemingly too big for David Corenswet to fit into.

There are also several individuals who are comparing David Corenswet to the previous actor who played Superman, Henry Cavill.

David Corenswet has big shoes to fill, as Henry Cavill was not only a strong presence in the Superman films but also often expressed in interviews his interest in things like comic books, video games, and tabletop. An actor who both acts in and follows geek culture has led to a big cult-like following being formed around him.

In contrast, David Corenswet seems to have never worked in any film or series that is superhero-related or based off of any comics. This could, perhaps, be a good thing. David Corenswet, along with James Gunn, may bring a new side to Superman that audiences haven't seen yet.
