Veteran actress and former Mandya MP Sumalatha Ambareesh has finally broken her silence on the arrest of actor Darshan in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy.

I pray that they receive justice under our law," Sumalatha said.

Sumalatha Breaks Silence On Darshan

The former Mandya MP said that This incident has broken my heart and left her in "shock." Responding to criticism for not reacting to the murder, she said, "Those commenting on my silence over the issue do not understand the bond between my family and Darshan's family. I have known him for 25 years, even before he became a star. Beyond his stardom, Darshan is like a family member to me, like a son. He always referred to Ambareesh as his 'father' and gave me a special place in his life.

No mother likes to see her son in such a situation. I know Darshan as a man with a loving and generous heart. His compassion for animals and his willingness to help those in need are testaments to his character. I believe Darshan is not the type of person to commit such a crime. As the matter is in court, I prefer not to comment further at this time."

She also expressed her displeasure over the social media criticism directed at Darshan's wife, Vijayalakshmi, and their son, Vineesh. She stated, "The cops are doing their duty, and I believe in our justice system. Darshan is still an accused; nothing has been proven against him, nor has he been punished. Let Darshan get a fair trial."

Sumalatha then said, "I can't live peacefully and stay away from the issue under such circumstances. This is my family problem. It is a crucial issue for his life, his family's security, and their future. We are all pained. Sandalwood has come to a standstill, and the lives of thousands of people working in the film industry are at stake. This is not a simple issue to face in life."

"I believe he will prove his innocence and return to his normal life soon. I also request Darshan's fans to maintain calm and avoid actions that might harm him or his family."
