SRK’s Baazigar Co-Star Struggled to Buy Milk After Film’s Success – Guess Who

Actor Adi Irani, known for his supporting roles in hit films like Dil, Baazigar, Badshah, and Welcome, recently revealed that despite being part of successful movies, he faced financial struggles in the 90s. Even after Baazigar became a blockbuster and propelled Shah Rukh Khan to stardom, Irani found himself struggling to afford basic necessities.

In an interview with Filmytantra Media, Adi shared how, in the mid-90s, he was financially unstable despite his acting career. "My first daughter was born in 1995, and back then, milk cost ₹5. There were times when I didn't even have that much money," he recalled. He had to borrow a friend's scooter to move around the city in search of work, but often couldn't afford petrol. "On days I had no money for fuel, I would walk to the bus stop. If someone saw me and asked why I was there, I'd lie and say I was waiting for a friend. I was too embarrassed to admit I had to take a bus," he added.

Though his sister, veteran actress Aruna Irani, was already an established name in the industry, Adi never sought financial help from her. "She knew about my struggles and offered help many times, but I refused. Just because I am her brother doesn't mean she should take care of me all my life. That was my own battle to fight, and she had her own family to look after," he said.

Despite facing hardships, Adi continued to work in films and television. However, his career saw a decline in the 2000s. He was last seen in the 2022 thriller A Thursday starring Yami Gautam. His story sheds light on the unpredictable nature of the film industry, where being part of a hit film doesn't always guarantee financial security.
