Spirit Update: Did Deepika Padukone’s Demands Clash with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Vision?
Prabhas' upcoming film Spirit, helmed by Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, continues to make headlines even before it hits the floors. Marketed as a high-octane pan-India entertainer with international sensibilities, the film has become the centre of casting speculations-especially regarding its leading lady.
According to reports, the makers had initially approached Bollywood star Deepika Padukone to play the female lead opposite Prabhas. However, the collaboration may have hit a roadblock. Unconfirmed reports suggest that Deepika had laid out a few non-negotiable terms: a share in the film's profits, a no-Telugu-dialogue clause, and a fixed cap on daily working hours.

Reports claim that these conditions didn't align with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's creative style. Known for his uncompromising approach and strong directorial control, Vanga is said to have moved on to explore other casting options. As of now, no official statement has been made by the team regarding Deepika's involvement or exit.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and Pranay Reddy Vanga under the T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures banners, Spirit has music by Harshavardhan Rameshwar and is expected to be mounted on a grand scale.
While fans remain eager for a formal announcement on the female lead, the excitement around Spirit shows no signs of slowing down. With its promise of intense storytelling and big-screen spectacle, this is one project to keep a close eye on.
