Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 5: Aamir Khan Starrer Film Crosses Over ₹100 Crore Mark Globally

Aamir Khan's latest film, "Sitaare Zameen Par," has been performing impressively at the box office since its release on June 21. The sports comedy-drama has already crossed the ₹100 crore mark globally, surpassing Sunny Deol's "Jaat" in collections. This marks Aamir Khan's return to the screen after a three-year hiatus, with the film directed by RS Prasanna.

The movie has garnered ₹75.15 crore in India within just five days of its release, according to Sacnilk. The gross domestic earnings have reached ₹90 crore, while an additional ₹33 crore from international markets brings the worldwide total to ₹123 crore. This achievement positions "Sitaare Zameen Par" ahead of Sunny Deol's "Jaat," which collected ₹118.36 crore during its run.

Film Details and Cast

"Sitaare Zameen Par" is a spiritual successor to the 2007 hit "Taare Zameen Par." In this film, Aamir Khan portrays a basketball coach who trains a team of players with special needs. Genelia D'Souza also stars in this remake of the Spanish film "Campeones." The production is under Aamir Khan Productions and introduces ten new actors, including Aroush Datta and Gopi Krishna Varma.

Critics and audiences alike have praised the film for its engaging storyline and performances. Javed Akhtar expressed his delight over the movie's success on social media, stating: "So happy to learn about the record leap that Sitaare Zameen Par has taken at the box office on the second day. Who says good films have no takers in the audience? Congratulations to Aamir Khan and his team."

Box Office Success

The film is now on track to surpass Aamir Khan's previous release, "Laal Singh Chadha," which earned ₹133.5 crore during its lifetime run. The positive reception from both critics and viewers suggests that "Sitaare Zameen Par" will continue to perform well in theatres.

As it continues its successful run, "Sitaare Zameen Par" demonstrates that urban films still have a strong audience base despite recent trends suggesting otherwise. The movie's success is seen as a significant win for Aamir Khan and his team.
