Singer Mangli Clarifies Drug Allegations After Resort Raid, Shares Her Side of the Story
Folk singer Mangli, known for her powerful voice in superhit film songs across languages including Kannada, has landed in legal trouble after celebrating her birthday party at a resort in Tripura.
The police raided the resort late on Wednesday night after receiving information that the event was conducted without prior permission. Reports also claimed that intoxicating substances were allegedly found during the party. A case has now been filed against Mangli and several others who attended the event.

Mangli Breaks Silence on Birthday Party Incident
Addressing the controversy, Mangli shared a video on social media to clarify her side of the story. She said:
"I hosted a birthday party to spend quality time with my family. It was organised as per my parents' wishes. All my family members, relatives, and friends were present. Arrangements for music and drinks were made. I didn't know prior permission was required. Had someone informed me, I would have taken the necessary steps. No one told me that permissions were mandatory. I have not knowingly done anything wrong."
No Drugs Found, Say Police
Mangli also clarified that only local alcoholic beverages were served at the party, and no banned substances were either used or discovered during the police search. She added:
"Police did not find any illegal substances at the venue. The person who allegedly used marijuana did so at a different location and time, which the police themselves confirmed. We are fully cooperating with the authorities."
Police Detain Guests, Conduct Medical Tests
Several guests who attended Mangli's birthday party were reportedly detained by the police. Medical tests revealed that a few individuals had consumed intoxicating substances. Based on the findings, a case was registered at the Chevella Police Station.
During the raid, the police began filming the event. Mangli was seen confronting the officers, asking them to stop recording. The police responded by saying, "We are just doing our job."
Mangli Requests Public Not to Spread False Allegations
Appealing to the public, the singer said: "Would I ever act irresponsibly in front of my parents? Would I knowingly break the law? Please don't spread baseless allegations about me without proof."
