Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna's Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, released in theatres on March 30, 2025, during the Eid weekend. The film had a strong start, collecting ₹55 crore India net in its first two days. However, the collections saw a drop on its third day.

On its third day, Sikandar earned around ₹19.50 crore India net (early estimates), bringing its total India gross collection to ₹74.5 crore. The worldwide collection now stands at approximately ₹95 crore. The worldwide collection now stands at approximately ₹95 crore.
According to Bollywood Hungama, several cinema chains in Surat, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Indore, and other parts of the country canceled screenings of the film due to a lack of audience, as reported by various film distributors.
According to reports, several theatres replaced Sikandar's screenings with Gujarati films like All The Best Pandya and Umbarro, as well as Mohanlal's latest release, L2: Empuraan. At Inox Raghuleela in Mumbai's Kandivali, the 5:30 pm show of Sikandar was replaced with Umbarro.
On April 1, the film's 9:30 pm show was swapped with All The Best Pandya. Similarly, in Cinepolis Seawoods and PVR Orion Mall, the 9:40 pm and 5:30 pm shows were replaced with L2: Empuraan. In South Mumbai's Inox Nariman Point and Metro Inox, Sikandar was dropped in favor of John Abraham's The Diplomat, which will now be screened at 8:00 pm and 8:30 pm, respectively.
Despite a good opening, Sikandar could not beat the opening records of Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava and Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan, which have been the biggest openers of the year so far.

Audience Response
Sikandar has received mixed reactions. While many liked the action and drama, some felt it lacked freshness. The film had a slight boost on its first Monday, but collections dipped again on Tuesday.
Competition from other films is also affecting Sikandar's numbers. John Abraham's The Diplomat is performing well in Hindi-speaking regions, while L2: Empuraan is leading in the Malayalam market.
What's Next for Sikandar?
With its mix of action, drama, and politics, Sikandar has all the elements of a commercial entertainer. The real test now is whether it can hold strong in its second week. A positive word-of-mouth boost could help it regain momentum.
