Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 2: Salman Khan’s Film Sees A Boost, But Faces Tough Fight from L2: Empuraan

Sikandar box office collection day 2: The Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Sikandar had a lukewarm start at the box office, receiving mixed reviews from audiences. The action-packed film, which hit the screens on March 30, saw an initial slow pace. However, the Eid celebrations provided a much-needed boost, leading to a slight increase in its box office collection.

According to Sacnilk.com, Sikandar saw a surge in earnings on Monday by collecting ₹29 crore, which pushed its total domestic collection to ₹55 crore-up from ₹26 crore on Day 1. The film's overall Hindi occupancy on Monday reached 24.60 percent, with morning shows drawing 8.38 percent, afternoon shows 26.70 percent, evening shows 30.18 percent, and night shows 33.12 percent occupancy.

Despite the Eid boost, Sikandar's opening numbers fell short of record-breaking levels. It couldn't surpass Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, which collected ₹31 crore on its opening day. Globally, Sikandar debuted with ₹54 crore, marking one of Salman Khan's lowest openings in recent years. Industry experts had expected better performance, given Salman Khan's massive fan following and the Eid holiday advantage.

Box Office Battle: Sikandar vs. L2: Empuraan Vs Chhaava

In a competitive scenario, Sikandar's earnings are now compared to other films. While Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan has roared past ₹200 crore worldwide in less than five days-despite a slight dip in Monday's Indian earnings-the Malayalam film set a new benchmark by collecting Rs.21 crore in India on its opening, followed by robust figures on subsequent days.Currently, its total worldwide collection stands at ₹200.35 crore, with an overseas collection of ₹26 to 28 crore gross.

Mounted on an estimated budget of ₹200 crore, Sikandar was anticipated to cross ₹125 crore within the first three days. However, early trends indicate that the Salman Khan starrer is taking longer to reach the ₹100 crore mark, with reports suggesting a Day 2 collection of around ₹32-34 crore.

Amid the turmoil, there's a silver lining: Sikandar has outperformed The Diplomat, Fateh, Deva, and all other Bollywood releases to become the third highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025.

Sikandar marks Salman Khan's return to the silver screen after nearly two years and is his first Eid release since 2023. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film features an ensemble cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi in pivotal roles. Released on a Sunday, March 30, the film still has a chance to gain momentum in the coming days.
