Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's sister-in-law, Shrima Rai, recently spoke about her mother-in-law, Aishwarya's mother Brindya Rai's battle with cancer.

Aishwarya had revealed last year that her mother was diagnosed with cancer, and now Shrima has also shared her thoughts on the subject.

On her Instagram Stories, Shrima expressed gratitude to Brindya for looking after Shrima's children while she took a break. In her post, she mentioned Brindya's fight against cancer.

Shrima posted a selfie with Brindya and wrote, "A big shoutout to my MIL for all the support and love and babysitting the kids while I went on my getaway. While she underwent cancer, I refrained from posting her too much because she wasn't looking her best and I respect her privacy."

She added a crown emoji to the photo, celebrating Brindya.

Last year, on her birthday, Aishwarya had revealed that her mother had been diagnosed with cancer in early 2023. Speaking at a special event organised by the GSB Seva Mandal for cancer patients, Aishwarya shared that her mother had fought cancer. Aishwarya's father, Krishnaraj Rai, passed away from cancer in March 2017.

"Okay, I don't know if I should be saying this, but cancer has touched our lives personally. First it was my dad, and my mum got it earlier this year, but she has come out of it, with the support of so many incredible doctors and a lot of love and blessings from everyone," Aishwarya had said during the event.

Aishwarya is very close to her mother, and they are often seen together at events and family gatherings. Recently, Brindya appeared in Aishwarya's post featuring photos from Aaradhya's birthday celebration. Aishwarya shared a picture of herself and Aaradhya with Brindya.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya has been in the spotlight due to ongoing rumours about a divorce from Abhishek Bachchan, although she has not addressed the speculations.
