Shahid Kapoor On Hugging Kareena Kapoor At IIFA 2025: 'Totally Normal, Nothing New For Us'
The past made a comeback recently, and the internet cannot get enough of it! Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, once Bollywood's most talked-about couple, had a delightful reunion at the IIFA 2025 press conference, sending nostalgia levels soaring.
The former lovers were seen sharing a warm hug, exchanging smiles, and engaging in a brief conversation, while the paparazzi captured the moment for fans to relish. And relish they did! The rare sight of the two together once again sent social media into a frenzy.
However, before speculation could spiral, Shahid Kapoor addressed the much-discussed reunion. Speaking on the green carpet of the IIFA Digital Awards, the 'Kabir Singh' star was asked about the buzz surrounding their interaction. His response was nonchalant.
"For us, it's nothing new... aaj stage pe mile aur hum log idhar udhar milte rehte hai (today we met on stage, but we keep bumping into each other here and there). It's totally normal for us... if people felt nice, it's nice."
Back in the 2000s, Shahid and Kareena were Bollywood's cherished on-and-off-screen couple, captivating audiences with their chemistry in films such as 'Fida', 'Chup Chup Ke', and the cult favourite 'Jab We Met'.
However, just before the completion of 'Jab We Met', their relationship took a different path, and they decided to part ways.
Fast forward to the present, and both actors have built fulfilling lives of their own. Kareena found lasting happiness with Saif Ali Khan, and together they are proud parents to two young boys.
Shahid, meanwhile, discovered love outside the film industry, marrying Mira Rajput, with whom he shares a son and a daughter.
The 25th edition of IIFA is taking place in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
