Sangeetha's Grief Can't Be Ignored: Bigg Boss Tamil Sanam Shetty On Vijay-Trisha's Relationship

Actress and Bigg Boss Tamil 4 contestant Sanam Shetty has slammed Thalapathyv Vijay saying that the grief of his wife Sangeetha cannot be ignored.

In a post on X, she reshared the report of Vijay and Trisha appearing together at a wedding in Chennai on Thursday. Tagging Vijay and his political party TVK handles on X, she wrote, "NO! This is not the way ❌

Grief of the wife cannot be ignored like this! As a long time fan its deeply disappointing to watch at this time! @actorvijay @TVKVijayHQ."

Sanam has been an active supporter of Vijay but his stand has apparently changed after Vijay appeared with Trisha amid his divorce proceedings with wife Sangeetha.

A divorce petition has been filed before the District Court in Chengalpattu by Sangeetha Vijay seeking the dissolution of her marriage to actor-politician Vijay (C. Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar). Filed under Sections 27(1)(a), (b), (d) read with Sections 36 and 37 of the Special Marriage Act, 1954, the petition details a union registered first in the UK in July 1998, followed by a traditional Hindu ceremony in Chennai in August 1999.

While the initial years were described as harmonious, Sangeetha, 48, alleges that in April 2021, she discovered Vijay was involved in an adulterous relationship with an actress. This discovery, she claims, caused her profound emotional distress and mental suffering, amounting to a betrayal of marital trust. Although Vijay allegedly promised to end the affair, the petition asserts the relationship continued, leading to mental cruelty, public humiliation, emotional neglect, and constructive desertion.

The petition notes that attempts at reconciliation between September 2021 and February 2022, and again from August 2024 to February 2025, failed. Stating the marriage has "irretrievably broken" and exists only on paper, Sangeetha seeks a divorce decree, permanent alimony commensurate with Vijay's status, continued residence in the matrimonial home, and an in-camera proceeding to protect privacy. Vijay, who married Sangeetha long before his rise to superstardom, has two children with her.

Meanwhile, producer and film critic Dhananjay Govind has indirectly expressed his displeasure over the recent developments.

He further added, "For every person, Family comes first. When family is taken for granted and abused (mentally or emotionally), the love and respect for them gets lost. Such acts can't be normalised or justified under any circumstances ✍️"

The producer added that he is "disturbed." The post read, "Being a strong family oriented person, I am disturbed by a few leading actors setting wrong example thro' their acts, for their millions of fans and followers 💔."
