Crime Scene Recreation

On Monday night, the accused was taken back to Saif's house for another crime scene recreation. A video shared by ANI showed police leaving Saif's residence with Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad after this exercise. The police car also passed by Bandra railway station during this process.

Following the recreation, authorities returned the accused to the Bandra police station. During this exercise, they reportedly discovered at least 19 fingerprints at the scene. These findings are expected to aid in advancing the investigation further.

Suspect's Background and Capture

The suspect initially used a false identity, Vijay Das, and hails from Rajabariya village in Bangladesh's Jhalokathi district. His real name is Shariful Islam Sajjad Mohammed Rohilla Amin Fakeer. He entered India illegally using this fake name.

Police officials revealed that Shehzad panicked upon seeing his image on news channels and planned to flee back to Bangladesh. However, advanced technology helped identify him from CCTV footage captured on January 9 in Andheri.

Breakthrough in Investigation

A significant breakthrough occurred when investigators tracked a digital payment made by Shehzad at a food stall near Century Mill in Worli. He had ordered Burji Pav and water there on Saturday night. This transaction provided crucial information for tracking him down.

The investigation gained momentum when a motorcycle rider informed police that he was Fakir's former employer. This lead allowed authorities to obtain Shehzad's phone number and place it under surveillance, aiding in his capture.

The case continues to unfold as authorities piece together evidence and work towards resolving this high-profile incident involving Saif Ali Khan.
