Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan reportedly sustained injuries during a shocking burglary attempt at his Bandra residence in the early hours of the morning. The incident, which unfolded around 2:30 am, has sent shockwaves across the city as new details emerge. The actor was rushed to the Lilavati Hospital at 3:30 am. He is currently being operated on. Who is Encounter Specialist Daya Nayak?

Inspector Daya Nayak, widely regarded as an "Encounter Specialist," has a remarkable story of perseverance and dedication. Born into a financially struggling family in Karnataka, he faced many hardships during his childhood. After completing his seventh-grade education at a Kannada-medium school, he moved to Mumbai in 1979, where he initially worked as a table cleaner in a hotel.

Recognizing his potential, the hotel owner sponsored his education, enabling him to graduate. Before this, he had also worked as a plumber, earning a modest salary of ₹3,000.

Over 87 Encounters and a Legendary Career

Daya Nayak began his police career in 1995 with his first posting at Juhu police station. On December 31 of that year, he faced two gangsters from the Chhota Rajan gang in an encounter. When the gangsters opened fire, Daya retaliated, killing both in his first-ever encounter.

Since then, he has conducted over 87 encounters, earning a reputation as one of Mumbai's most fearless officers. Between 1999 and 2003, Nayak played a key role in dismantling the Chhota Rajan gang's operations.
