Roald Dahl Book's Film Adaptation, 'The Twits' First Look Teased By Netflix, Coming Soon, Other Details

Netflix recently put up some teaser images on their internal news outlet, Tudum, about a new animated movie coming in 2025 called 'The Twits'.

The movie will be based on the book by Roald Dahl, also called 'The Twits'. The plot of the movie, however, may deviate from the original book.

Roald Dahl Book Gets Film Adaptation

Plot Details Of The Movie:

The original book by Roald Dahl followed the two main characters, Mr. Twit and Mrs. Twit. The book described them both as angry, vengeful, and smelly human beings, with most of its pages detailing the different pranks they pulled on each other out of spite.

In the book, the couple aspired to create a circus of their own, and abused a couple monkeys by forcing them to stand upside down in order to train them for the performances. Eventually, the monkeys with the help of a bird, manage to trick the Twits couple to stand on their own heads, glueing them in that position so they get stuck, before getting away.

In the new movie, the Twits won't be working towards making a circus. Instead, the movie starts out with the couple owning an amusement park called Twitlandia. This leads to them gaining a significant amount of power and influence over the town they live in.

To combat their rule, two children, and a community of magical animals team up and put their wits together to become as crafty as the couple.

Details Around The Cast And Crew Of The Film:

The movie is going to be directed by Phil Johnston, who's written other animated films like 'Wreck-It-Ralph' and 'Zootopia'. In a comment to Netflix, the director talked about his love for monstrous characters like the Twits, and that he loved the movie he was working on because it reminded him that unpleasant people like the Twits cannot be allowed to win in our society.

The cast of the film will involve actors Margo Martindale, Johnny Vegas, Natalie Portman, and Emilia Clarke

When, Where And How To Watch The Film.

Readers can watch the film exclusively on Netflix. The exact release date hasn't been given but we know it will release sometime in 2025.
