Renowned Odia Music Composer Abhijit Majumdar Passes Away at 54

The Odia music industry is mourning the loss of Abhijit Majumdar, a celebrated composer who passed away at the age of 54. Majumdar, known for his prolific contributions to Odia and Sambalpuri films, had been battling multiple health issues, including high blood pressure and liver disease, since September 2025.

Abhijit's health had deteriorated significantly over the past few months. After a sudden decline in August 2025, he was initially admitted to a hospital in Cuttack and later transferred to AIIMS Bhubaneswar. Despite brief improvements, his condition worsened again in subsequent months.

Abhijit Majumdar was a towering figure in the Odia music landscape, having composed over 700 songs throughout his career. His melodies, featured in numerous films and albums, left an indelible mark on the hearts of many fans.

Former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid tribute to Majumdar, remembering his immense contribution to Odia music and offering heartfelt condolences to his family.
