Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor In Delhi To Invite PM Modi For Raj Kapoor Festival

Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Saif Ali Khan were spotted at a private airport on Thursday as they departed to Delhi to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Raj Kapoor Centenary Film Festival.

The Kapoors have planned a grand celebration to mark the legendary actor and filmmaker's contributions to Indian cinema. The festival, scheduled from December 13 to December 15, will showcase the restored versions of 10 iconic Raj Kapoor films. It is organized by the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), National Film Archives of India (NFAI), and Film Heritage Foundation (FHF) in collaboration with Kapoor's family.

Ranbir Kapoor, dressed in black formal attire, looked sharp alongside Alia Bhatt, who wore a striking red saree. Kareena Kapoor Khan opted for a traditional red suit with white floral accents, while Saif Ali Khan blended Indo-western style with a white kurta-pajama paired with a light brown half-sleeved jacket.

Speaking at International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2024, Ranbir Kapoor, last month, said, "We are going to organise the Raj Kapoor Film Festival from December 13-December 15 all over India. We will show the restored version of 10 films of Raj Kapoor's films,"

"I hope you guys come as well (to watch the film festival). I remember the first time I met Alia, she asked me 'Who's Kishore Kumar?' It's just a circle of life, people are forgotten. It's important we remember our roots," he added.

The actor, who had starred in Sanjay Dutt's biopic Sanju, expressed his wish to do a film on his legendary grandfather. He said, "I talk to a lot of people, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali, about how to make a biopic on Mr Raj Kapoor. A biopic is not just something which highlights the success in a person's life, you truly have to portray someone's life honestly, the lows, struggles, relationship dynamics," he said at IFFI. He added, "It's a very tough biopic to make. I don't know if my family would also agree for most of the things, to show this side of Raj Kapoor. But I think it would really make a great movie,"
