Yash On Ramayana

Confirming the news, Namit Malhotra told Bollywood Hungama: "After years spent living between the US, the UK, and India, building a business that has achieved unparalleled commercial success and more Oscar wins in the last ten years than any other company, my personal journey has led me to the point that I feel ready to do justice to the incredible story of 'Ramayana', treating it with the due care and reverence that it deserves."

Namit Malhotra is a renowned producer and Global CEO of the multiple Academy Award-winning visual effects company DNEG. He has set his eyes on making the timeless tale of 'Ramayana' for the silver screen.

Upon sharing his aspirations with superstar Yash, the two duo found common ground, driven by a mutual desire to showcase India's vibrant cultural legacy to a global audience.

"My challenges from the start have been two-fold: to respect the sanctity of a tale which is held in such high regard by all of us who grew up with it, while also bringing it to the world in such a way that this incredible story is embraced by international audiences as a compelling big screen experience," Namit stated.

"In Yash, I recognise a similar aspiration to share the best of our culture with the world. Inspired by his journey from Karnataka to the incredible international success of K.G.F: Chapter 2, I can't think of a better partner to help create a major global impact with this, the greatest of all our stories."

On his turn, Yash said that he has been dreaming of making film that will showcase Indian cinema at a global level. He was in Los Angeles to ally with the best VFX studios and he was amazed to know that the company was headed by an Indian. "

Yash mentioned that Namit and he had numerous brainstorming sessions, and surprisingly, their synergy regarding the vision for Indian cinema was spot-on.

As they explored various projects, the topic of 'Ramayana' emerged. With Namit already having groundwork in place and Yash feeling a profound connection to the subject, they decided to collaborate on producing 'Ramayana'. By combining their collective vision and expertise, they aim to craft an Indian film that will captivate and inspire audiences worldwide.

The upcoming movie is directed by Nitesh Tiwari. It has Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in the leads.
