Rakkasapuradhol Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad In Raj B Shetty's New Film?

Raj B Shetty is back with his latest movie Rakkasapuradhol following the massive success of Su From So. He has teamed up with Ravi Saranga for his latest flick which has Swathishta Krishnan and Archana Kottige in the key roles.

Arjun Janya has scored the music for the Kannada film which has the photography of William David, KM Prakash's editing, Mohan B Kere's art work, Kranthi Kumar 's dialogues, and Rahul BS' choreography. Stunt master Dr Ravi Verma has produced the movie and also choreographed the action sequences.

The Kannada crime mystery film features Raj B Shetty in the role of a layered, unconventional police officer. Set against a rustic rural backdrop, the film follows a "settled" character who must confront his own inner demons while unraveling a string of murders.

Unlike traditional cop dramas, the protagonist is a non-stereotypical officer-rarely seen in uniform, calm in demeanor, and deeply introspective. His journey highlights the duality of human nature, weaving in themes of suspicion, fear, and the tensions of rural life.

In the deceptively tranquil town of Rakkasapura, a new officer arrives-Raj B Shetty, a man drowning in grief and alcohol after losing his wife. Viewed with suspicion by the locals, he is placed under constant surveillance. But when a series of bizarre events shakes the town, the villagers' distrust turns to dread, branding him a thief and a demon. Now, isolated and hunted, Raj must clear his name and uncover the terrifying truth before the town's fear consumes him entirely.

Shetty embodies a figure marked by both internal and external struggles. His approach relies more on keen observation and psychological depth than on the usual action-driven heroics. With its subdued tone and character-centric storytelling, the film marks a departure from high-octane police thrillers, offering instead a nuanced exploration of crime, morality, and the human psyche.

Like his Raj's movies, Rakkasapuradhol had its premiere shows before its theatrical release. And as expected, it has garnered fantastic response from the viewers.
