Raju Talikote Death: Veteran Kannada Actor and Comedian Dies of Heart Attack

Kannada actor and theatre artist Raju Talikote has passed away following a sudden heart attack in Udupi. The news of his demise has left the film industry in shock. Fans and celebrities are expressing their grief on social media platforms, mourning the loss of this beloved artist. According to latest updated, his son, Bharat Talikote stated that the final rites will be held at their farm in Chikkasindhagi village, Vijayapura district.

According to reports, Raju was resting in his room after completing a film shoot when he developed breathing issues at 11.59 pm. Doctors at Manipal Hospital, Udupi, confirmed his death, leaving the theatre and film community in deep shock.

Medical professionals conducted examinations and confirmed that Talikote had succumbed to cardiac arrest. The sudden demise happened after he had wrapped up filming for a project in Udupi, marking an unexpected loss to the performing arts industry.

Raju Talikote hailed from Chikkasindagi village in Sindagi taluk, Vijayapura district. He was known for his roles as a drunkard and had dedicated his life to theatre arts. His passion for acting was evident in every performance he delivered. He gained recognition with his role in the movie 'Manasaare' released in 2009.

Raju Talikote began his journey on stage before transitioning into films. He was celebrated for his memorable roles in movies like "Manasaare," "Panchrangi," "Mattondu Maduvena," 'Life Is That', 'Rajdhani', 'Alemari', 'Maina' and 'Topiwala'. His extensive contributions to both theatre and cinema earned him admiration from peers and audiences alike.

His original name was Rajesab Maktumsab Talikoti. Beyond acting, Talikote managed his own theatre company and also served as the director of Rangayana Dharwad, demonstrating his leadership and dedication to the theatrical community. His passion for performing arts remained evident throughout his career.

He had competed in the reality show 'Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7'. He had participated in some television programs.

Actor Shine Shetty said, "Last night at 12 o'clock, Raju Talikote had difficulty breathing. I took him to the hospital myself. He was being treated. But he passed away today. He had participated in the shooting of our movie for 2 days. The movie has not been titled yet."

Karnataka's Minister for Backward Classes Welfare and Kannada & Culture, Shivraj Tangadagi expressed deep sorrow over Raju's passing: "The news of popular Kannada theatre artist Raju Talikote's death is shocking. His untimely demise is a significant loss to Kannada theatre and cinema." He praised Raju's work as Dharwad Rangayana director and hoped his family finds strength during this difficult time.

Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy also conveyed condolences: "I am deeply saddened by the news of Shri Raju Talikote's passing. Known for his humour rooted in North Karnataka culture, his loss is immense for the arts community." He prayed for peace for Raju's soul and strength for his family and fans.

Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar expressed grief over Raju's death due to a heart attack: "It's very sad that renowned stage actor and comedian Raju Talikote has passed away." Acknowledging his popularity from acting in several Kannada films, Shivakumar prayed for peace for Raju's soul and strength for his family to bear this loss.
