'Raayan' 1st Day Box Office Collection: Dhanush's Film Gets Decent Start, Positive WOM To Boost Business
Dhanush's much-hyped film 'Raayan' has got a decent start in Tamil Nadu and other South Indian states. With the positive word-of-mouth, the actor's landmark 50th film is expected to do well over the weekend.
As per the trade reports, 'Raayan' had earned over Rs 5 crore from the advance booking across the country. In Tamil Nadu alone, the movie had raked in over Rs 4 crore from the pre sales.

On an average, the morning and noon shows are having over 50 per cent occupancy in theatres in Tamil Nadu. In Bengaluru, the film had special shows and having over 35 per cent occupancy. The film has received below-average response in Hyderabad and had over just 20 per cent occupancy in the morning shows.However, it was better in Vizag where it was reported close to 25 per cent. In Kochi, it was around 30 per cent in the morning.
The early trends indicate that the movie will cross double-digit collection in Tamil Nadu alone. Overall, the first-day worldwide collection might be in the range of Rs 12-15 crore, trade sources predict.
The story of the movie revolves around three brothers and their sister who come to the city for their survival, but caught up in a violent world of gangsters, cops and betrayals.
However, the movie is getting fairly positive response among Tamil cinema lovers. Hence, exhibitors are increasing shows. "Extra show added for #Raayan today at Lakshmi cinemas, Hosur. Book your tickets now at the box office and book my show app," Lakshmi Cinemas in Hosur announced on X.
"Massive opening for #D50 @dhanushkraja directorial #Raayan," Nikilesh Surya, who manages Rohini Silver Screens in Tamil Nadu, said on X. He also revealed that it will be a career-best opening for Dhanush.
Kasi Theatre, popular cinema hall in Chennai, wrote: "#Raayan at KASI From Today !! Fantastic Advance Bookings for the opening weekend 💥."
