Problem Lies With Cameras: Amala Paul On Misogynistic Remarks On Wearing Short Dress

South Indian actress Amala Paul, who had come under attack from a section of netizens over her outfit, has defended her decision to wear the said dress saying it was not "inappropriate" and "indecent".

She wore a short outfit with a plunging neckline when she was at St Albert's College in Ernakulam in Kochi, recently. She was there to promote her upcoming film 'Level Cross'.

The actress has said that she wore the short dress as she was comfortable wearing it. Hindustan Times quoted her as saying: "The problem lies with how the cameras projected my dressing style. I wore what was comfortable for me. My dress was not inappropriate for the function. What was probably inappropriate was the way the cameras projected my attire. I have no control over."

The actress, who welcomed a baby boy last month, said that students were comfortable to see her in the said dress. She said, "The students were totally comfortable with what I wore. I wear all types of clothing, be it traditional or western. By wearing that dress, I wanted to instil confidence among students regarding their dressing choices," she added.

His remarks come following misogynistic remarks made by netizens on social media sites. However, this is not the first time that she has come under attack on social media sites.

Be it when she announced her pregnancy or marriage, a section of people had some reasons to complain. Nonetheless, those words have not impacted Amala to much extent as she continues to do what she likes to do.

However, Amala married entrepreneur Jagat Desai in 2023 and she confirmed about expecting her first child in January 2024.

Apart from 'Level Cross', she will be also seen in Neeraj Madhav starrer 'Dvija'. The actress has pinned high hopes on these two flicks.
