Priyanka Chopra’s Uncle Passes Away, Mannara Insists On Carrying Bier At Funeral

Actor Mannara Chopra, cousin of Priyanka and Parineeti Chopra, was overcome with grief as she bid an emotional farewell to her father, Raman Rai Handa, who passed away on June 16, 2025, at the age of 72. The cremation ceremony took place in Mumbai on Thursday, where Mannara and her sister Mitali Handa were seen in deep sorrow while accompanying their father's mortal remains.

In several visuals shared by paparazzi, Mannara and Mitali, both dressed in white, were seen crying and holding each other as their family surrounded them during the final rites. One particularly emotional moment showed Mannara insisting on helping carry her father's bier along with male family members, walking beside them into the cremation grounds.

Family in Mourning

Raman Rai Handa is survived by his wife Kamini Chopra Handa and daughters Mannara and Mitali. A lawyer by profession, he practiced at the Delhi High Court and was married to Kamini Chopra, who is the paternal aunt of Priyanka and Parineeti Chopra.

The family had earlier released an official statement on his passing:
"With profound grief and sorrow, we inform the sad demise of our loving father who left us for his heavenly abode on 16/06/2025. He was the pillar of strength for our family."

Priyanka Chopra, Siddharth Offer Condolences

Priyanka Chopra expressed her grief through an Instagram Story, writing: "You'll always be in our hearts. Rest easy Raman uncle (fufaji). Om Shanti." Her brother, Siddharth Chopra, also paid tribute by resharing the family's statement and adding, "Will miss you Raman uncle 🙏."

The ceremony marked a deeply emotional moment for the family as they mourned the loss of a beloved husband, father, and uncle, whose legacy as a guiding force in their lives remains strong.
