Priety Zinta On Cannes Red Carpet 17 Years After First Appearance

Preity Zinta returns to Cannes Film Festival on its 77th Edition, after 17 years. As part of her visit, she shows off a sparkly pink saree on the red carpet. According to an article by Hindustan Times, the last time Zinta visited Cannes was in 2008 as the brand ambassador of Chopard, a Swiss manufacturer and retailer of luxury watches, jewellery and accessories.

At the screening of the film 'La Plus Precieuse des Marchandises', Preity Zinta hit the red carpet wearing a classic Indian dress for women, a pink saree. This particular saree was designed and created by Seema Gujral, a renowned fashion designer.

Zinta's personal stylist, Leepakshi Ellawadi, in an interview with News18 said, "Preity has always been big on promoting Indian designers. We chose something that's understated, delicate looking for the red carpet. The jewellery is from Chopard and the outfit is from Seema Gujral. Seema has put in a lot of effort into this saree, so a really big thank you to Seema for that."

Preity Zinta's first ever debut in Bollywood was in the movie 'Dil Se' in 1998 as a supporting character. She has received several awards throughout her career such as the 'Filmfare Award For Best Actress' for her role in 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' in 2003. She took a hiatus from her acting career, instead focusing on other work like column writing, activism and handling the ownership of a cricket team.

She plans to return to the Bollywood Scene in the 2024 movie 'Lahore 1947' which is going to be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and will feature prominent actors like Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan.

Preity also posted pictures of herself next to the French Riviera, wearing a white saree and shawl. The post had no captions besides some hashtags for the Cannes Film Festival.
