'Premalu' Box Office Collection: Rom-Com Strikes Gold In Kerala
Malayalam movie 'Premalu' has stuck gold at the Kerala box office, doing fantastic collection across the state.
The movie's second weekend clearly outperformed its first, a testament to the power of positive word-of-mouth.

Its second weekend saw a remarkable 40 per cent increase over the first, raking in Rs. 9.75 crore in India. The interesting part of its success story is that this surge occurred despite facing stiff competition from another major release, 'Bramayugam,' which also posted impressive numbers this week.
'Premalu' even reached full capacity at numerous centers on Sunday. Trade analysts claim that the collection could have been much higher if there was no big movies around.
The film's total earnings over the past ten days amount to Rs 25.5 crore, with Rs. 22 crore coming from Kerala alone. Starting with just Rs. 1.10 crore on the first day, this marks a significant achievement, with more earnings anticipated.
Additionally, it has garnered another USD 2.30 million (approximately Rs 19 crore) internationally, bringing its worldwide gross to around Rs 44.75 crore.
The Malayalam film, set in the backdrop of Hyderabad, is a romantic comedy film which stars Nalsen K Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju. The film is directed by Girish AD.
Talking about the massive success, Tamil producer G Dhananjeyan tweeted, "A film made on a budget of 3 Cr is collecting over 31+ Cr at box office & expected to cross 50 Cr + is possible only in Malayalam & Telugu cinema. Sadly Tamil cinema doesn't give more than 10 - 20 Cr gross for a small budget film despite being a much bigger market than Malayalam ✍️ #Premalu."
