PM Modi's ‘Create In India’ Summit: Shah Rukh Khan & Akshay Kumar Applaud Global Entertainment Vision
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent announcement of a global initiative to elevate Indian cinema and content on the world stage has garnered widespread support from top industry figures, including Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar.
The initiative, part of the 'Create in India' campaign, focuses on establishing India as a major hub for content creation, fostering collaborations, and showcasing the country's potential in the creative industries.

A Major Global Platform for Indian Creators
In his last Mann Ki Baat address of 2024, PM Modi revealed plans for the first-ever World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES), set to be held in New Delhi from February 5-9, 2025. The five-day summit will be hosted at the Bharat Mandapam and is expected to draw prominent leaders from the media and entertainment sectors globally, much like the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The summit aims to bring together content creators, social media influencers, and innovators from various creative fields to discuss global trends and collaboration opportunities. PM Modi emphasized that WAVES will be a significant step towards positioning India as a central player in global content creation.
Showcasing India's Creative Excellence
The summit will highlight India's advancements in animation, gaming, entertainment technology, and both regional and mainstream cinema. PM Modi encouraged creators from all corners of the industry to participate, from young filmmakers and established Bollywood actors to professionals from TV, animation, and gaming sectors.
Support from Bollywood Stars
The initiative has received warm endorsements from some of Bollywood's biggest names. Shah Rukh Khan expressed his excitement about the summit on social media, calling it an "occasion that champions and fosters creativity." He shared that he was looking forward to attending the event, which he believes will not only celebrate the Indian film industry but also underscore its contribution to the national economy and soft power globally.
Akshay Kumar also praised the summit, calling it a visionary step by PM Modi to boost India's media and entertainment sector. He stated, "WAVES 2025 will hopefully be a fabulous global forum for the entertainment industry to come together and grow."
Other notable figures such as Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Ektaa Kapoor also expressed their enthusiasm for the summit, underlining its importance in strengthening India's presence in the global entertainment arena.
