Patriot Movie Review: First Review of Mohanlal & Mammootty's Film Is Here

Mohanlal and Mammootty's much-hyped movie Patriot will hit the screens on Friday. The two iconic Malayalam stars are reuniting after 13 years (last film was Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty).

The latest movie is written and directed by Mahesh Narayanan. The film has Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Kunchacko Boban, Rajiv Menon, Prakash Belawadi, Jinu Joseph, Darshana Rajendran and others in the cast.

Sushin Shyam has scored the music for Patriot which has Manush Nandan's cinematography and Rahul Radhakrishnan's editing. The much-awaited flick will be released on Friday.

The film has garnered a lot of buzz with its promos. With two stars in the cast, there are huge expectations riding on the movie. Well, the good news is that there are already positive reviews on the movie.

A user on social media shared a brief report from the overseas censor board. The message reads: "#Patriot overseas censoring - all areas completing one by one & reports suggest that the movie comes out well. Meaty role & duration for both Ms. #Mammookka #Lalettan."

Meanwhile, filmmaker B Unnikrishnan has shared his views on the movie. The message that he posted on his Facebook reads below:

'Patriot' hits theaters tomorrow. It's been a decade and a half since we saw a movie starring Mr. Mammootty and Mr. Mohanlal together. The film has an ensemble cast including Fahadh, Kunchacko Boban, Revathi, Nayanthara and Rajeev Menon. And the best technicians. It is known that the budget of the film is above 125 crores.

I know Anton Joseph even before he became a producer. Anto became one of the biggest producers in Malayalam cinema by surviving many hardships and trials. I remember the day when Mahesh and Anto approached Mr. Mohanlal to talk about this film. I am convinced of how firmly Anto stood by Mahesh's big dream from that day. Such bold endeavors can break not only the commercial equations of Malayalam cinema but also the conceptual boundaries. Earlier, Anthony Perumbavoor's walk through 'Embura' was such a daring detour.

Through this film, Mahesh Narayanan is trying to tell the truth that privacy is a myth in our times. The film has an engaging politics that the contemporaneity demands. 'Patriot' will surely be a great viewing experience.
