The film recorded an impressive 70.25% overall morning occupancy across Malayalam screenings on Day 1, reflecting a robust turnout for early shows, as per Sacnilk data. This is particularly notable given that morning occupancies are often considered a reliable indicator of audience interest.

Key centres in Kerala led the charge. Kochi emerged as the top-performing market with a striking 91% occupancy, indicating near housefull shows in several theatres. Kozhikode followed closely at 85%, while Thrissur registered a healthy 78%. Other important regions such as Kottayam (81%), Alappuzha (72%), and Kollam (70%) also posted strong numbers, underlining the film's widespread appeal across the state.

Performance outside Kerala

While Kerala remains the film's primary stronghold, Patriot has also posted respectable numbers in key metropolitan markets outside the state. Bengaluru recorded a moderate 56% occupancy, while Hyderabad stood at 53%. Chennai saw a comparatively lower turnout at 46%, possibly due to competing releases and language preferences, the data said.

Interestingly, the film has performed well in select northern markets, with Mumbai registering 77% occupancy and the National Capital Region (NCR) clocking 70%, albeit with limited shows. These figures suggest that the film is attracting attention beyond its core Malayalam-speaking audience, aided by the star pairing of Mohanlal and Mammootty.

Patriot - Advance Booking Numbers

Patriot had already created history even before its release through its advance booking performance. The film recorded a worldwide pre-sales business of ₹21.15 crore, making it the second biggest advance booking total for a Malayalam film of all time.

The overseas market has played a crucial role, contributing a massive ₹14 crore to the total, highlighting the strong fan base of both lead actors among the global Malayali diaspora.

Mounted on a substantial budget of ₹120 crore, Patriot ranks among the most expensive Malayalam films ever made. Given its scale and investment, the film will need to maintain strong occupancy levels over the weekend and into the following weeks to achieve profitability.
