Paranthu Po OTT Release: When & Where Will Shiva's Tamil Be Released Online?

Paranthu Po, the 2025 Tamil film starring Mirchi Shiva and Grace Antony, hit the big screens last Friday and has been getting a decent response from the audience.

The film pulled in ₹42 lakh on its opening day, jumped to ₹93 lakh on day two, and then slightly dipped to ₹87 lakh on day three, taking the opening weekend total to ₹2.22 crore, as per Sacnilk data. Not bad for a slice-of-life musical comedy!

This film marks the comeback of director Ram, who is known for critically acclaimed movies like Thanga Meenkal, Taramani, and Peranbu. It's been seven long years since Ram last helmed a project, so fans were quite curious about this one.

So, when and where can you watch Paranthu Po online?

Well, the good news is that the OTT rights of Paranthu Po are with Jio Hotstar, which is also one of the film's producers, as per a report in OTTPlay. Though there's no official release date yet, if the usual pattern holds, you can expect the movie to start streaming around August 4-about four weeks after its theatrical release. But for now, it's still doing fine in cinemas.

What's Paranthu Po all about?

It's a heartwarming musical comedy that follows the story of a stressed-out dad Gokul (played by Mirchi Shiva) and his restless little son Anbu (Master Mitul Ryan). With both parents juggling work and EMIs, Anbu is stuck at home during his holidays. One fine day, the father-son duo decides to ditch the routine and set off on a spontaneous road trip. What starts as a simple drive turns into a journey of laughter, music, life lessons, and self-discovery.

The film has a feel-good vibe, peppered with comedy, emotions, and sweet moments. It even had its premiere at the prestigious International Film Festival of Rotterdam earlier this year!

Mirchi Shiva, last seen in Sumo, leads the pack. Grace Antony, Aju Varghese (both making their Tamil debut), Anjali, Vijay Yesudas, and others round out the cast.

The music is by Santhosh Dhayanithi, while NK Ekhambram handles the camera, and Mathi VS is in charge of editing.
