Panchayat Season 4 BTS: Actress Saanvika Declines On-Screen Kissing

Amazon Prime Video's hit rural drama Panchayat, known for its wholesome storytelling and strong family appeal, faced an interesting behind-the-scenes moment during its fourth season. Actress Saanvika, who plays Rinki-the daughter of Pradhanji and the romantic interest of Sachivji (played by Jitendra Kumar)-revealed that she refused to perform a kissing scene, leading the makers to modify the script.

In a recent interview with Just Too Filmy, Saanvika shared that the kiss was not mentioned during the initial narration of the season. However, director Akshat Vijaywargiya later introduced a new scene involving a kiss between Rinki and Sachivji, set inside a car. The scene was meant to reflect the growing closeness between the two characters.

Though surprised, Saanvika took two days to reflect before ultimately turning it down. "I wasn't comfortable doing the scene, and more importantly, Panchayat is a show watched by families. It just didn't feel right," she said. Respecting her concerns, the creators replaced the scene with a more subtle yet meaningful moment-the now-noticed "tank scene."

Balancing Storytelling with Sensitivity

The romance between Rinki and Sachivji has been a slow-burning subplot since Season 1, gaining momentum in Season 4 with Sachivji finally confessing his love. While the show has evolved, it has continued to maintain its grounded tone and universal appeal.

Season 4 premiered a week ago and has received mixed reviews from audiences. However, Saanvika's candid revelation has been widely appreciated, highlighting her thoughtful approach and the production's willingness to accommodate personal boundaries.
