The fourth season of Amazon Prime's hit series Panchayat has been dropped on Tuesday, June 24.

Written by Chandan Kumar and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, the show features Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Sanvikaa, Chandan Roy, Durgesh Kumar, Ashok Pathak, Faisal Malik, Sunita Rajwar and Pankaj Jha.

The webseries is all about the life of an engineering graduate who joins as a panchayat secretary in a remote fictional village of Phulera in Uttar Pradesh due to lack of better job options.

Phulera's political stage is set for a showdown in the fourth season of "Panchayat," as incumbent Pradhan Manju Devi finds a formidable rival in the ambitious Kranti Devi. What ensues is a chaotic and all-consuming election campaign, largely driven by the behind-the-scenes machinations of their husbands, the affable Brij Bhushan and the conniving Banrakas.

The season plunges viewers into the heart of rural politics, with the rivalry between the two women and their camps dominating every episode. The narrative is a whirlwind of campaign strategies, petty taunts, and public spectacles, as both sides vie for control of the village. However, what promises to be a fiery clash of wills and ideologies quickly fizzles out.

Like the previous three seasons, Panchayat 4 has eight episodes packed with humour, drama and emotional scenes.

This season skillfully blends comedy, emotion, and intense drama, as the story revolves around the elections in Phulera. It's MANJU DEVI VS KRANTI DEVI.. and it beautifully captures the grassroots political machinery in all its chaotic glory. The humour is sharper this time.

However, amidst the chaos, campaigning gimmicks, disputes, and village dynamics, it's the subtle, heartfelt moments that leave a lasting impact. The silences, the unspoken words - they stay with you. ✨

While the music doesn't quite reach the high standards set by previous seasons, the dialogues, performances, and writing are exceptional.

PS: The two new characters - Rinki's Nanaji and a child named Bill Clinton - win hearts. 😁
