Palak Muchhal Opens Up About Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal's Delayed Wedding, Calls It a "Tough Time"

The wedding of cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer-filmmaker Palash Muchhal was widely expected to be a major celebrity event, but the celebrations came to an abrupt stop on the very day of the ceremony.

Weeks later, Palak Muchhal has opened up for the first time about how both families have handled the unexpected turn of events.

Families Confront a Sudden Crisis

The couple were set to marry in Sangli, Maharashtra, on November 23, and anticipation had been building across social media as pre-wedding festivities ramped up. Excitement quickly dissolved into concern when two health emergencies unfolded within hours of each other.

Early on the morning of the wedding, Smriti Mandhana's father, Srinivas Mandhana, was rushed to the hospital due to a medical issue. Soon after, news emerged that Palash had also been admitted for viral symptoms and complications related to acidity.

Amid this double crisis, Palak Muchhal released a brief update announcing that the wedding would not take place as scheduled. Although both Srinivas and Palash were discharged soon after, the silence that followed only fueled speculation across social platforms.

Speaking to Filmfare, Palak described the emotional strain surrounding the situation. She said, "I think the families have been through a very, very tough time, and I would just want to repeat that we would like to believe in positivity in this time and spread positivity as much as we can. And stay strong... yeah."

Withdrawal from the Public Eye

In the days after the postponement, both Smriti and Palash stepped away from social media. Smriti removed every wedding and engagement related post, including the much loved proposal video filmed at the DY Patil Stadium. Observers also noticed that both added an evil eye emoji to their Instagram bios, leading to fresh theories about the reason behind their silence.

Palash has since made a few low profile public appearances. He was first spotted at an airport, marking his return after the health scare. More recently, an image of him wearing a mask during a visit to Premanand Maharaj at the Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj ashram in Vrindavan circulated widely online.

Rumours About a New Wedding Date

Speculation rose again when reports suggested that the ceremony had been rescheduled for December 7. However, Smriti Mandhana's brother quickly dismissed the claim, stating that the wedding remained "still on hold".
