Tamil actor Vishnu Vishal has claimed that the water level is rising "badly" in the Karapakkam area in Chennai as Cyclone Michaung heads to the Andhra Pradesh coast.

He has said that there is no power supply in his house, no wifi internet and no phone network.

"Water is entering my house and the level is rising badly in karapakkam. I have called for help. No electricity no wifi. No phone signal. Nothing. The Tamil actor also shared a few photos that shows the situation of people living in the said area.

Chennai witnessed the onslaught of Cyclone Michaung, with winds reaching speeds of 75 km per hour. The cyclone pounded the city and three adjacent districts, unleashing over 40 cm of rainfall within a span of 36 hours on Sunday and Monday. This severe weather event resulted in significant destruction, claiming at least five lives, including that of a woman, and causing extensive damage to properties valued in crores of rupees.

The majority of areas, including the city center, were submerged, prompting people to utilize every available means to seek assistance from authorities and activists in order to escape the floods. The sole airport in Chennai was closed for commercial operations due to extensive waterlogging on the runways. However, he was reopened today after 9 am.
