Narayana Murthy Forgets 25th Anniversary, Here's How Sudha Murty Reacted

The recent episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show welcomed Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys, and his wife Sudha Murty. Joining them were Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal and his wife Grecia Munoz. During the show, Narayana Murthy humorously admitted to forgetting their 25th wedding anniversary, despite Sudha Murty's repeated hints.

Sudha Murty shared her cooking skills with a touch of humour on the show. She said, "Main itna kharab khana banati hu nah. Murthy saab ka weight dekhiye. Kyun aisa hai? (I cook so much worse. Look at Murthy's weight. Why is it like this?) Thanks to my cooking." Her candid confession added a light-hearted moment to the episode.

Anniversary Mishap

Narayana Murthy recounted how he missed the special day despite reminders from Sudha. "One day, I woke up in the morning, and Sudha asked me if there was anything special today. And I said no…nothing," he recalled. He continued with his routine until his daughter intervened.

As Narayana prepared to travel to Mumbai that evening, he received a call from his daughter Akshata Murty, who was studying in the US at Stanford. She urged him to cancel his flight and return to Bangalore immediately to wish Sudha a happy anniversary.

Family Reactions

Sudha expressed her feelings about the incident, saying she felt bad for a short time but understood such things happen in India. "It was our 25th wedding anniversary, so it doesn't happen every year," she noted. Their daughter was more upset, remarking that such forgetfulness wouldn't occur in America.
