Move Over, Roma! Kiara Advani Is The Leading Lady In Ranveer's 'Don 3'

Putting an end to rumours, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar on Tuesday announced that Kiara Advani will be part of the upcoming movie 'Don 3' which stars Ranveer Singh.

While many specifics about 'Don 3' remain undisclosed, Farhan hinted on Monday that he has a 'special announcement' to make today. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he said, "Welcome to the Don universe @advani_kiara #Don3."

A source had earlier told Bollywood Hungama: "Director Farhan Akhtar felt that Kiara fits the bill perfectly. Moreover, she has never been paired with lead actor Ranveer Singh before. Kiara, too, is excited to be a part of an exciting action franchise. She is looking forward to playing the stylish part and also collaborating with Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh."

It has to be noted that Kiara is working on another action-packed film 'War 2' which has Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR. The source said, "Until now, Kiara has proved her worth in romantic, intense and comic roles. With Don 3 and War 2, she'll make a mark in the action genre and thus, emerge as an all rounder actress."

The 'Don' franchise, revolving around the fictional Indian underworld kingpin Don, originated with the 1978 Hindi-language action thriller film of the same name. A remake series began in 2006 with 'Don: The Chase Begins Again,' followed by its sequel 'Don 2' in 2011.

The first two instalments had Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in the leads. While King Khan was seen as the gangster named Don and common man Vijay Pal (only in the first part), Priyanka did the character of Roma.

The upcoming Hindi movie is funded by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment.
