Mithun Chakraborty Diagnosed With Ischemic Cerebrovascular Stroke, Admitted In Kolkata Hospital
Mithun Chakraborty, the veteran actor-turned-politician, was admitted to the emergency unit of Apollo Hospital in Kolkata on Saturday, February 10, after feeling unwell. According to the reports, the legendary actor has been Diagnosed With an Ischemic cerebrovascular stroke.
According to the reports, Mithun Chakraborty felt uneasy and pain in the chest, when he returned home from a film shoot. The reports said he was promptly rushed to the hospital for medical attention, where he is currently receiving treatment.

The hospital's statement reads: "Shri Mithun Chakraborty (73), a National Award-winning actor, was admitted to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata, around 9.40 am with complaints of weakness in the right upper and lower limbs. Following thorough laboratory and radiology investigations, including an MRI of the brain, he has been diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain."
"At present, he remains fully conscious, coherent, and has been placed on a soft diet. Mr. Chakraborty is under the careful watch of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, comprising neuro-physicians, cardiologists, and gastroenterologists, who continue to assess his condition," the statement further added.
Since his debut in 1976, Mithun Chakraborty has had a remarkable career in the film industry, earning prestigious accolades including the National Award. His notable films include "Disco Dancer," "Jung," "Prem Pratigyaa," "Pyar Jhukta Nahin," and "Mard."
Recently, Mithun was honored as one of the recipients of the Padma Bhushan Award 2024. Expressing his joy, he shared his gratitude on social media through his son Namashi, stating, "After much hardship, receiving such a great honor feels indescribable. I dedicate this award to all my fans, in India and around the world, who have selflessly showered me with love and support."
In addition to his recent recognition, Mithun Chakraborty faced personal losses as well. His mother, Santirani Chakraborty, passed away in July 2023 in Mumbai after battling geriatric issues. Prior to that, in April 2020, his father Basantokumar Chakraborty succumbed to kidney failure at the age of 95.
