Meenakshi Chaudhary On The GOAT Backlash: "Went Into Depression For A Week"

Vijay's much-anticipated film The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT) faced intense trolling and heavy criticism upon release.

Viewers slammed the movie for its weak storyline, poor direction, unimpressive VFX, and Vijay's unconvincing de-aging effects. Adding to the disappointment was actress Meenakshi Chaudhary's role, which was almost negligible and left fans disheartened.

Struggles in Finding a Breakthrough

Meenakshi Chaudhary, known for her striking presence and immense popularity among youth, has been struggling to land impactful roles in the industry. Despite being a part of Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram, her character was reduced to brief appearances, leaving fans disappointed. Her presence in the film was largely limited to serving drinks and omelets, making little impact on the storyline.

Expectations were high for The GOAT to offer Meenakshi a breakthrough, but it turned out to be another letdown. She was paired with the younger version of Vijay, but her role lacked depth and significance. Many even compared it unfavorably to her brief yet noticeable part in Guntur Kaaram.

Emotional Toll & Finding Strength

The series of forgettable roles sparked discussions about the lack of substantial opportunities for Meenakshi in the industry. However, she finally found some relief with Dulquer Salman's Lucky Bhaskar, which earned her appreciation and praise.

In a recent interview, Meenakshi revealed the emotional toll she faced post-The GOAT's release.

"After acting in Vijay's GOAT, I was trolled so much that I went into depression for a week. But with Lucky Bhaskar, I received a lot of appreciation, and that's when I realized I need to focus on doing good films moving forward."

Looking Ahead to Bigger Opportunities

Now, Meenakshi Chaudhary is setting her sights on Venkatesh's upcoming film Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, directed by Anil Ravipudi. Unlike her previous projects, this film is expected to offer her a meatier role. Scheduled for release on January 14, fans hope this will be the breakthrough she has been waiting for.

With a mix of setbacks and successes, Meenakshi's journey reflects the challenges many aspiring actresses face in the industry. However, her determination to focus on meaningful roles indicates a promising future ahead.
