Meena Breaks Silence On Second Marriage: 'If There is Someone...'

Veteran South Indian actress Meena has broken her silence around her second marriage, expressing clear frustration over the speculation and urging people to stop making baseless assumptions about her personal life.

In a recent interaction with a YouTube channel, Meena spoke candidly about the gossip that has been circulating for months. The actress said she has been hearing constant talk about her remarriage despite there being no truth to it.

"Recently, everybody is talking about my second marriage. There is no connection, but they keep talking. If there is anything, or anyone, there is nothing like that. Just because I am a celebrity, just because I am a woman, and just because I am single, they take you for granted. That is very annoying. I don't know when I am going to lose my cool," she said.

Meena's husband, Vidyasagar, a Bengaluru-based businessman, passed away in 2022 due to lung-related complications. The couple had married in 2009 and shared over a decade of married life. His sudden demise was a devastating loss for the actress and her family. He is survived by Meena and their daughter, Nainika, who is now 15 years old.

Since Vidyasagar's passing, Meena has largely focused on her daughter and her professional commitments while maintaining a dignified silence about her personal life. However, repeated rumours about her remarriage appear to have finally prompted her to respond.

Despite her disappointment, the actress stated that she does not want to waste her energy on negativity.

"I don't want to spend any of my time, health and energy on something negative. I cannot waste my precious time, health and thoughts on something wrong, bad, and unnecessary. I am a very positive person. I like to be happy and share positive things. All I can do is focus on such things. That's how I live," she said.

Meena remains one of the most respected and popular actresses in South Indian cinema. Born Meena Durairaj on September 16, 1976, she began her career as a child artist before rising to become one of the leading heroines of the 1990s. She has worked extensively in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films and has shared screen space with some of the biggest stars in Indian cinema.

Apart from acting, she is also a trained classical dancer, playback singer, television judge, and dubbing artist. Over the years, she has received several prestigious honours, including two Filmfare Awards South, Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, Nandi Awards, and the Kalaimamani Award from the Tamil Nadu government.
