'Martin' Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad; Find Out Here

Dhruva Sarja has joined hands with AP Arjun for his latest venture 'Martin' which hit the screens on Friday. This is their second film after 'Addhuri'.

The movie has Vaibhavi Shandilya, Anveshi Jain, Sukrutha Wagle, Chikkanna, Sadhu Kokila, Malavika Avinash and others are in the cast.

The movie has Mani Sharma's music and the background music is scored by Ravi Basrur of KGF fame. 'Martin' has Satya Hegde's cinematography and KM Prakashp-Mahesh S Reddy's editing.

'Martin' Review

'Martin' follows the journey of Lt. Brigadier Arjun Saxena as he travels from Pakistan to India in search of his true identity. Along the way, he faces off against black market dealers who are collaborating with terrorists to plan large-scale attacks on the nation.

As he pieces together his mysterious past, he uncovers challenging truths about himself-and the man named Martin who seems to be the reason behind his troubles.

Dhruva Sarja delivers an impressive dual role, portraying contrasting shades of his character with skill. In one role, he embodies a fierce and unpredictable presence, while in the other, he is quite the opposite, adding depth to the story's mystery. However, 'Martin' isn't a typical romance- or family-centered film.

Instead, it dives headfirst into gritty action, keeping the narrative intense and appealing to action fans more than a general audience.

Supporting performances are commendable, especially Chikkanna, who surprises by taking on a serious role rather than his usual comedic persona. Anveshi Jain adds a twist with her limited but impactful appearances, while Vaibhavi Shandilya gets fair screen time that complements the plot.

Visually, Martin excels with Satya Hegde's rich cinematography, which elevates the film's tone and feel. Ravi Basrur's background score adds to the atmosphere, though some areas of the visual effects could have been executed with more finesse to meet the high expectations set for the film.

While the first half keeps the audience engaged with its fast pace and suspense, the second half slows down, feeling somewhat average by comparison. The climax, however, ramps up the excitement with a fight sequence that could rival Hollywood standards. The film's quality in terms of production is strong, though some moments of emotional depth and character writing could have been more polished to leave a lasting impact.

The most irritating part of the first half was #DhruvaSarja 's expression and voice. If they truly intended to portray #Martin that way, I believe it was a very wrong decision.
The movie is overloaded with unnecessary fights, cringe-worthy dialogues, and illogical sequences.
