Malayalam Actor Vinayakan Detained At Hyderabad Airport For Misbehaving With Staff
Malayalam actor Vinayakan, known for his villainous role in Rajinikanth's Jailer, was detained at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad after causing a public disturbance and misbehaving with IndiGo gate staff.
The actor, reportedly intoxicated, was seen in a video sitting shirtless on the airport floor, shouting at the staff. He had arrived in Hyderabad from Kochi and was en route to Goa.
Following the incident, the CISF security team detained Vinayakan and handed him over to the local airport police. Balraj, the CI of the Airport Police Station, confirmed that a case has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing.
Vinayakan has faced legal trouble before, notably in October 2023, when he was arrested for creating chaos at a police station in Ernakulam, Kerala.
He had been questioned after complaints of disturbances at his apartment complex but was later released on bail.
Vinayakan was booked under sections 118(A) and 117(E) of the Kerala Police Act. He was later let off on bail after a medical examination. The police said the actor had caused similar acts of commotion in the past at the police station.
The actor had stoked controversy in the past for allegedly using disparaging words against former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy and for his remarks on the MeToo movement.
Vinayakan has received numerous accolades for acting, including the National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in 'Maheshinte Prathikaaram'.
His recent projects include, Rajinikanth starrer 'Jailer', 'Kammatti Paadam', 'Oruthee' and others.
