Malaika Arora's Ex-Boyfriend Arjun Kapoor Rushes To Her Side After Father Anil Mehta's Tragic Suicide

Well-wishers have begun arriving at Malaika Arora's Bandra residence after the tragic news of her father Anil Arora's death by suicide on Wednesday. According to reports, Anil Mehta jumped from the terrace of a seven-story building in Bandra, Mumbai, around 9:00 am. The police are currently at the scene, conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.

Malaika's ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan, was the first to arrive at her residence to support the family during this difficult time. Notably, Arjun Kapoor, who reportedly broke up with Malaika in May, also came to console her.

Joyce Polycarp, Malaika's mother, provided a statement to the police that offers insight into the moments leading up to the tragedy. She mentioned that Anil had a routine of sitting in the balcony and reading newspapers every morning. Although they were divorced, Joyce and Anil had been living together again for the past few years. On that fateful morning, Joyce noticed Anil's slippers in the living room but did not find him in his usual spot in the balcony. Concerned, she leaned over and looked below, only to hear the building's watchman shouting for help.

Joyce clarified to the police that Anil was not suffering from any major illness, apart from some knee pain. Anil, who had taken voluntary retirement from the Merchant Navy, was known as a disciplined man with a calm demeanour.

Anil Mehta, a Punjabi Hindu from the border town of Fazilka, had married Joyce Polycarp, a Malayali Christian. The couple had two daughters, Malaika and Amrita, before separating when Malaika was 11 years old and Amrita was 6. Despite their separation, the family had managed to maintain a connection, with Anil and Joyce eventually living together again in recent years.
