After doing a decent business, Sivakarthikeyan's Tamil movie Madrasi is hitting the OTT platform on Wednesday, October 1.

Despite creating a lot of buzz and with big names in the cast and crew, including Rukmini Vasanth and Vidyut Jammwal, the film did not hit a century at the box office. Critics have praised its action sequences and performances, but this acclaim hasn't translated into consistent ticket sales.

In Madrasi, Sivakarthikeyan stars alongside Rukmini Vasanth, with Vidyut Jammwal making a return to Tamil cinema after his role in Thuppakki. The supporting cast includes Biju Menon, Monisha Vijay, Vikranth, and Thalaivasal Vijay. The movie has received positive reviews for its direction by AR Murugadoss.

Originally slated for October 5, Madrasi will now be available on Amazon Prime Video from October 3. Although Zee5 was initially reported to have secured OTT rights, Zee TV holds satellite rights instead.

The film's plot revolves around a seemingly ordinary man who harbors a dark secret: a fractured mind that unleashes violent psychosis under pressure. As he fights for love amidst growing chaos, his internal struggle intensifies.

Despite its challenges at the box office, "Madrasi" continues to garner attention due to its gripping storyline and strong performances. The transition to streaming platforms may offer it another opportunity to capture audiences during the festive season.
