Lok Sabha Election 2024: Sanjay Dutt Clarifies Rumors About Joining Politics

A clarification was shared by actor Sanjay Dutt after rumours emerged that he would soon join politics. On Monday, a statement was made on X (formerly Twitter) by Sanjay, mentioning that if his decision changes, he will "be the first one to announce it."

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Sanjay Dutt conveyed and wrote, "I would like to put all rumours about me joining politics to rest. I am not joining any party or contesting elections. If I do decide to step into the political arena then I will be the first one to announce it. Please refrain from believing what is being circulated in the news about me as of now."

In response to his tweet, various reactions were observed from fans. One fan wrote, "Don't join politics or any political party. Sanjay's connection with politics

It was highlighted that this is not the first instance where Sanjay has dismissed rumours of entering politics. According to Free Press Journal in 2019, he denied Maharashtra minister Mahadev Jankar's claim that he would join Rashtriya Samaj Paksha, the minister's party, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Previously, he was persuaded by a close friend to contest the 2009 Lok Sabha election as a Samajwadi Party candidate but withdrew later. Subsequently, he was appointed Samajwadi Party general secretary, resigning from the post in December 2010. Sanjay's father, the late actor Sunil Dutt, was a Congress MP.

In recent developments, it was noted that actors Kangana Ranaut and Govinda have entered politics. Kangana is set to contest as a BJP candidate from Mandi. Additionally, Govinda joined Eknath Shinde's faction of Shiv Sena, as per media reports.

Fans were informed about Sanjay's upcoming films. He will be seen in the sci-fi horror comedy film "The Virgin Tree," featuring Sunny Singh, Mouni Roy, and Palak Tiwari. He also has "Welcome To The Jungle" alongside Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Disha Patani, scheduled to release on December 20, 2024, reported Hindustan Times.
