'Leo' Success Meet To Be Held In Chennai As TN Govt Grants Permission

The DMK government has granted permission to hold a success meet of Vijay's hit film 'Leo', according to reports in the Tamil media.

The makers had approached the authorities seeking permission to conduct the success meet of 'Leo' on November 1. The event will be held at the Nehru Stadium in Chennai.

This development holds a lot of significance as there were speculations that the DMK government had earlier refused to grant permission for the audio launch event of the movie, thereby irking the fans of Vijay.

It was then accused by Vijay fans that the audio launch event was forced to cancel by the authorities after the makers refused to sell theatrical rights of 'Leo' to Red Giant Movies, a production house owned by DMK minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Nonetheless, the makers claimed that the event was cancelled over "safety constraints." the Seven Screen Studio said, "Considering overflowing passes requests & safety constraints, we have decided not to conduct the Audio Launch. In respect of the fans' wishes, we will keep you engaged with frequent updates. P.S. As many would imagine, this is not due to political pressure or any other reasons."

Vijay's manager Jagadish, who has co-produced the film, said, "It is a very hard decision and We feel the same level of disappointment as each one of the fan will go through. Despite working out various options and tremendous effort, we had to take this tough call, considering the extreme overflow in tickets demand and prioritising the safety of the guests."

Further, the DMK government's refusal to grant permission for 4 am shows for 'Leo' agitated Vijay's fans, who criticized the government for what they perceived as a political vendetta.

Meanwhile, Vijay's movie 'Leo', which hit the screens on October 19, has come out with flying colours at the Tamil Nadu box office. It has reportedly minted over Rs 150 crore, as per the online trade trackers.

Lokesh Kanagaraj-directorial is an action thriller in which Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun will be seen in key roles.
